Privacy Policy
Your trust matters to us. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how we protect it.
Effective date: July 15, 2026
Who We Are
The Aya Mission ("TAM," "we," "us") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 86-3391298) providing preparation and integration support for veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors. This policy applies to information collected through this website and the forms linked from it.
Information We Collect
Information you provide. When you apply for support, contact us, volunteer, donate, or subscribe to our newsletter, you may provide your name, contact details, military service information, and — in intake forms — information about your health and wellbeing that you choose to share. You are never required to share more than you are comfortable with.
Information collected automatically. This website is a static site and does not set its own tracking cookies. Our hosting provider and the embedded third-party services below may collect standard technical data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) to deliver and secure their services.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to review applications for support, coordinate program participation, respond to inquiries, process donations and issue tax receipts, send newsletters you have requested, and meet our legal and reporting obligations as a nonprofit. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information — ever.
Health-Related Information
Information about your mental or physical health that you share in intake or program forms is treated as sensitive. It is accessed only by TAM team members who need it to support you, and it is never used for marketing. Participation in any research is separate, optional, governed by IRB-reviewed protocols, and always requires your explicit informed consent.
Third-Party Services
Parts of this site are delivered by service providers with their own privacy policies: GitHub Pages (website hosting), monday.com (intake and contact forms), Zeffy (donation processing), Mailchimp (newsletter), Spotify (embedded podcast links), and Brikl (merch shop). When you use those features, your information is processed by those providers under their policies. We choose providers that meet recognized security standards, but we encourage you to review their policies.
Sharing
We share personal information only with service providers acting on our behalf (listed above), when required by law, or to protect someone's safety. Sacramental ceremonies are conducted by independent religious organizations; if you are accepted into our program, we do not share your intake information with them — you register with them directly and separately.
Data Retention & Security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, and we use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information accordingly.
Your Choices
You may unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us — we will honor your request unless the law requires us to retain certain records.
Children
This website and our programs are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
