Our Mission
The AYA Mission is a Veteran driven initiative by Veterans, for Veteran’s and their Families. We focus on gathering resources to facilitate participation with indigenous healers to combat trauma. We support sponsees by providing travel, housing, and the donations needed to participate in non-traditional mental health treatment.
Believing that no one person can combat trauma alone, an AYA Mission (Battle Buddy), partners with a sponsee in ceremony. Leading up to ceremony, sponsees establish a relationship with an AYA Mission Battle Buddy, and a ceremony facilitator to to ensure that all questions are answered, and thorough preparation takes place.
In the future, The AYA Mission plans to expand and provide follow up mentorship to our sponsees. After ceremony, a sponsee would be partnered with a Veteran that can assist with financial counseling, housing resources, and assistance with filing compensation and pensions claims.
If we can help our Veteran Community remove the veils of trauma that obscures our true potential, we then begin to strengthen the foundation for a forest to blossom!
